In 1972, Ross and Pauline Webber, together with Jack and Mary Taylor founded what is known today as Mayacamas Fine Foods. Ross had been an executive with Dole Pineapple for many years and was looking for a chance to start his own business. Mary Taylor was a well known gourmet chef and was looking for someone to produce and market her newly created seasoning blends. They met quite by chance as their paths randomly crossed at a bottle manufacturing company where they were both purchasing some supplies to begin their separate ventures. They quickly formed a partnership and began producing Marys seasoning blends. They soon developed some dry soup mixes and eventually some sauces. Those of you who knew us back then will remember that ALL Mayacamas products were packed in BOTTLES !!! Appropriately, only the seasoning blends are still packed this way while all others are in pouches.
